Today I had the chance to meet up with the High Commissioner , Tori Johnson. Tori is 14 years old, and is from the Saddleback Valley Delegation. She puts her self into her work, and always takes it serious, but still has time to have some fun. She took some time out of her busy schedule to answer some questions for me.

Liela: What drove you to be High Commissioner?
Tori: I wanted to be in charge of something that would focus on something extremely important.

Liela: How long have you been in Model United Nations?
Tori: This is my second year being involved with MUN

Liela: Do you like being High Commissioner?
Tori: YES!!

Liela: Why do you like being High Commissioner?
Tori: It’s great to be able to chair over such great delegates who know what they’re talking and dealing with.

Liela: What are your thoughts about the refugee situation?
Tori: I believe that the refugee situation is a complicated problem that can only be resolved by many hours of contemplating and resolving.

Liela: What are the steps that the High Commission are taking to address the situation of refugees?
Tori: We have been finding the significance, debating the harms and finding resolutions.

Liela: Do you agree with the Secretary General on the resolution related to refugees?
Tori: Yes.

Liela: What’s your favorite part of MUN?
Tori: That’s a tough question, but I would have to say  chairing over such an amazing commision.

Liela: Do you prefer Camp Bob or The Summit? And why?
Tori: The Summit by a mile. It’s more serious and we do actual debate.

Liela:  On a scale of one to ten, how much do you love MUN?
Tori: Ten , hands down.

The interview with the High Commissioner, Tori Johnson, went great. She works extremely hard to get her committee to focus and be on task. Everyone should recognize all the hard work she does.
