cyrpusThere’s a country that is being argued over where it should belong. The name of this country is Cyprus. This all began when Cyprus was divided into two parts: on part in Greece and another in Turkey. These two countries are arguing about which of the two deserve to keep Cyprus. The Security Council went straight on towards it and began by opening a speakers list, allowing countries to state their opinions. During the session, Turkey said that there is no exception, Cyprus should belong to them. Then Japan countered by saying that Cyprus should be left as a single government country. The group then used 20 minutes to work out a solution. Some solutions were that Cyprus should just go to Turkey or that Cyprus should be left alone without belonging to Greece or Turkey. At the end, the group did not get the chance to finalize a solution.
